In April 2008 I entered into the partnership Infinite Ape Media. Its first project was The Enthusiast, an online magazine of culture and entertainment, which launched in January 2009 and closed in May 2014. Crikey‘s Margaret Simons interviewed me about the site in January 2012.
Aiming to redefine what’s news, what’s worth reviewing and what deserves to be a feature, The Enthusiast hosted smart, authoritative, funny and original content across eight pop-cultural categories: music, film, books, television, advertising, media, performing arts and ephemera. Regular columns included The Tough Question and The Stupid Question, The Biscuiteer, Schmooze Review and the Subeditorial Antics Appreciation Society.
The Enthusiast had a strong Australian focus while being non-parochial and cosmopolitan in its outlook.
