I spoke at two discussion panels at the 2016 Independent Publishing Conference, a key professional development event for the publishing industry. The conference was held at the Wheeler Centre from 9-12 November, 2016.
On Saturday, 30 July 2016, I gave a public talk at the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum in Lilydale, based on my book Out of Shape, about why we love vintage fashion!
The City of Casey, in Melbourne’s outer south-east, invited me to give a free talk at the Narre Warren Library at 1:30pm on Saturday 4 June, 2016. Addressed to emerging writers, my talk focused on how to get writing published.
On Sunday 13 September, 2015, I gave a talk about David Bowie’s costumes as part of the “Strange Fascinations” talk series in association with ACMI’s David Bowie is… exhibition.
As film, clothes and archives are some of my key research interests, I gave numerous public talks about screen costume during the Hollywood Costume exhibition, which ran at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image from 24 April to 18 August, 2013.
