On Wednesday 17 June, 2015, at the Wheeler Centre, I chaired perhaps the most vital panel discussion of the modern era: How Cats Won the Internet. I subsquently starred with my own cat in a tabloid newspaper photo shoot.
As part of the Melbourne International Film Festival’s ‘Talking Pictures’ program, I spoke on a panel on Saturday 8 August, 2015, entitled Clickbait Criticism.
On 30 June, 2015, I spoke at Game of Thrones: Back to Westeros, an event in ACMI’s popular Talking TV panel series (formerly known as Live in the Studio).
On Sunday 3 May, 2015, I was interviewed on Radio National’s Sunday Extra program on the topic of online outrage.
On 8 November, 2013, I spoke to Cassie McCullagh and Jason DiRosso of ABC Radio National’s program The List about the class dimensions and carnivalesque role of spring racing fashion.
As film, clothes and archives are some of my key research interests, I gave numerous public talks about screen costume during the Hollywood Costume exhibition, which ran at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image from 24 April to 18 August, 2013.
